Research into closing credits

Closing Credits

This section provides information we got from the BBC website on what categories may be used in Closing Credits. We researched this as we did not know all the categories that are included in credits. We chose the appropriate categories that applied to us and added them to the ending of our film. For a closer look onto this website click here!

Bloopers

Below is the finished blooper reel that I put together after editing our film. We knew that there were a lot of outtakes among the footage we had filmed, so we decided that we would go a little further by creating these bloopers using Final Cut Express.

I used the website www.freesound.org to find some appropriate music for this video. I found it very easy to use, and managed to find the right sound effects for our blooper reel.

Filming Diary

DAY 1 of Production

On Day one of filming we completed the scenes we planned to shoot. Below is a short diary of what we aimed to shoot on Day 1, how we prepared our sets, and how the filming went. In this short diary we outlined what went well during the shoot, and if we could have improved anything.

DAY 2 of Production

Even though we planned to have 3 days of production, we managed to film the final scenes of our film on Day 2. Below is a short diary of what we aimed to film on Day 2, what went well, and what could perhaps have gone better.

DAY 3 of Production

After beginning to edit the footage we have already filmed, we used Production day 3 to film any last shots that we wanted to add in. Today we worked on the 'pull focus' shot that we wanted to use, and also some additional shots on the first location to add to the beginning of the film. Below is a short filming diary we kept whilst shooting to show the process we went through during the final day of filming.

Below are some photos that we took whilst preparing to film our 'Filming Diary' for Day 3 of Production.

We thought of different ways to make our filming diaries interesting, so instead of just sitting down and talking to the camera as we were initially going to do, Nikki suggested that we write down the narrative. This led to the idea of us using whiteboards, and even though we use them in all three video diaries, we tried to use them in different ways so that each diary was different.

After editing the footage we had filmed, we decided to add an extra scene to our film. This is how Day 4 of Production came about.

Day 4 of Production

Day 4 of production involved filming a whole new scene to add onto the beginning of our film. We decided that this would make sure that the audience understood what was going on in our film, because there is more than one storyline in our narrative. First is the main character's prejudice against a complete stranger based on her looks, and the second is the main character's relationship with her mum. In creating this additional scene, both storylines are fully explained.

Here is our completed Filming Diary.

Filming Diary Photo's from Production Day 2

This is a short video we made on MovieMaker of all our photo's taken on Production Day 2 outdoors. Our orginal idea was to film outside when it wasn't snowing but we took advantage of the fact it was snowing and decided to film before it melted away.

Character Poster

This is the character poster for one of the characters in our film. I have chosen to have the character in a long shot due to to the character being in the background of the film until the needed point so this poster shows the characters personality. Due to this being a character poster, i thought it would be appropriate to add to the title- "dont jump to conclusions" i decided to write this as it is something the character would say as she wouldn't want people to jump to conclusions about her just because of what she is wearing.

Character posters

Here are some character photos that I have taken, and edited using Photoshop to turn them into character posters to go with our film posters and teaser posters. There will be a poster for each character, each with the same theme: there are two sides to every coin.

I edited the photos by erasing the backgrounds, and altering the lighting effects so that each character is partially shrouded in a spotlight. This idea supports the mysterious edge to our characters because it suggests that they are each capable of deception, and that maybe one of them - or all of them - have something to hide. It also means that before watching the film, the audience has no idea who is the culprit.

The first attempt at making these character posters allowed me to experiment with different effects which I could filter over the top of the image. After doing so, I found that I enjoyed adjusting the lighting on the photos, and decided to keep the same theme on all the character posters.
